Degrees of Lewdity

Today's review is a going to be a total re-write of the first review I ever did on my Discord server and the first game that was so good that it made me want to start writing reviews in the first place.  Funnily enough, it comes from Blogger as well (a fact I forgot until I started writing this review) so you won't be going far to get it. Anyways, without further ado, let's get into my review of the game Degrees of Lewdity.

This little game may seem unassuming at first, but of all the games I've played when I began writing reviews for my Discord, it's still one of my absolute favorites. The person working on this game adds content so regularly that I often have to check to see what's new or changed and I'm always excited to see the new updates.  I still play this game because of how fun it is and I'm still working on my first save for the game.  Also for this review, I'll be talking about the game itself in its current state, and I'd like to point out that I play the mobile version so screenshots may not fully represent the PC version, although last time I played PC, it wasn't all that much different, just wider.

The basis of the game is that you are an orphan who has come of age and are trying to fend for yourself in an open world.  The moment you step outside, everyone (and everything) wants to have their way with you.  If you're a submissive, this game will be your bread and butter, but that's not to say doms won't find enjoyment too (I am quite submissive, so I don't often find myself tackling the domination options).  In spirit, the game is a text-based RPG with some basic (but well drawn) graphics and animations as well as offering an open world that gives absolute freedom, allowing you to do anything you want from the moment the tutorial ends.  Want to go to school and become a straight A student?  You can do that.  Want to meet a lonely girl who is often bullied and make her your yandere girlfriend?  Sure!  Or maybe you like being bullied yourself and find yourself wanting to submit... Yeah, you can do that.  What about turning to a life of crime?  Pick locks, steal purses, fuck the police!  (or get fucked)  Or maybe you hate life in the city so you want drop everything to live in the woods?  The beauty of this game is you'll find yourself in a variety of situations based on the choices you make and there is no wrong answer.

But now we'll talk about the main features of the game itself.  First off, you have the "combat" system.  Basically, every encounter is likely going to become either a consensual sex scene or a rape scene.  Every turn you will be given options you can use with multiple body parts, so for example you can scream with your mouth while punching your opponent with each of your hands while kicking with your feet.  Depending on the encounter, things will evolve so after screaming the rapist may cover your mouth, at which point you can try to bite their hand.  Or you could just give in and allow it all to happen... but at a cost.  Every action will result in certain stats taking a hit, like penetrative sex during rape will reduce Control (even if it was your choice) or fighting back will result in them hurting you, causing Pain to increase.  The game has various stats and every action will effect those stats which could lead to situations in which you hallucinate or pass out.  Finally, the last element of the games mechanics is your achievements, or feats as they're called here.  If you are the type that loves collection games, then this part is right up your alley.  No matter what playstyle you aim for, there is likely a story and goals along with it.  But for completionists, be prepared, this game has a LOT of content to do as it is, and as mentioned before... it's still getting regular updates to it so expect more to be added or changed over time.

Now all that sounds good, but how inclusive is it?  Well honestly, it's one of the best in terms of inclusiveness I've played, even after all the other games I've tried since this one.  Not only do you get to choose your own gender, skin color, and body elements, but also the genders and body elements of the major characters in the game (so you could turn Kylar the yandere into a male), what types of encounters you'll have in "wild" encounters (so if you are straight male but don't want to be raped by a man, you can set all random encounters to be female) and even what creatures may or may not appear, allowing you to replace creatures with "monsterboy/girl" variants (which normally appear when you are hallucinating).  So no matter what you are (or aren't) into, you have the freedom to fully change those settings to make the game play out in a way you will enjoy.  It even allows you to change settings from your bedroom mid-game should you change your mind on certain features or if an update adds an interesting feature so you don't have to start over just to change a setting.

With all of that said, do I think this game is worth the time?  Yes, absolutely.  If you enjoy erogames, then this game is a must-have for your desktop AND mobile device.  And with the price of it being the equivalent (or better) of a 5-finger discount, there is honestly no excuse to not have this game in some capacity.
