Puppet Nightmares

So I'm actually doing my first reader request with this one, as one of my readers suggested it to me via email.  I'd never heard of this game and he described it as a browser-based Pokemon-like RPG.  He said he'd played it off and on for years, and he actually helped tremendously with this review.  The game is called Puppet Nightmares, and sure enough, it's a browser-based game similar to stuff like Neopets.  Although, as I had played Neopets a long time ago, I sort of expected the same bland, boring gameplay.  As you may have guessed, that changed as here I am actually writing the review. To start off, the game has a story.  Your brother has disappeared and your only clue is a new "game" that recently popped up managed by a creepy old man.  You find yourself able to enter this mystical game and it is played using Soul Puppets.  Through the story, you'll learn of the various mechanics of the game from combat, buying and using gear, items, and skil...

Pokémon Ecchi Version

This week, I found a game that proved difficult to actually obtain, but I had heard much of it.  If any game is proof that someone needs to do showcase reviews to help others safely find and download these games, then let this one be the one.  Much of the sources I found to obtain the game were sketchy at best, others were pure vile.  It took hours to find (more on that later) a legitimate means to obtain it.  However, the game is pretty much fully functional with new content being teased and updated via Twitter and Discord. Difficulty of obtaining it aside, however, it's a good game, even if you are more interested in just new Pokémon romhacks (Note: This game is standalone, not a romhack, so it uses a .exe to play).  So let me introduce to you, Pokémon Ecchi Version. This game is Pokémon, plain and simple.  If you like Pokémon, it's got the mechanics in place and is fully playable.  In terms of inclusiveness, you don't get to choose your gender or yo...

Hero's Harem Guild

This week, I'll be reviewing another game I have experience with in the past.  This game feels like it falls somewhere between Visual Novel and Point and Click Adventure, but it definitely leans more towards VN.  Normally, when I try VN's, they end up being poorly written, uninteresting, and are really just sex scenes linked together with whatever excuse of a story they could come up with in 5 minutes.  The result often feels like those poorly written porn movies that are a few terribly acted scenes that lead into a forced feeling sex scene.  But that's what makes this game that much more special.  Welcome to Hero's Harem Guild. So just to preface this, the game is in alpha and is only finished up to the end of the prologue.  But the game is massive for just what it is.  I already know the game and had to start over to get the screenshots due to losing a lot of my pre-work, and I've barely scratched the surface of the story at this point.  The gam...

Haremon!!

So today’s review is a game that piqued my interest by the premise of an adult Pokémon game where you collect and battle monsters.   While the game did not live up to that expectation, it did still impress me with a more robust game than I had anticipated.   Keep in mind, however, this game is also still in Alpha (the version I played for this review is 0.20 which is currently the publicly available version).   I will be keeping an eye on this game personally, and if anything in the game changes my opinion in the future, I will return to add an addendum to the bottom.   Now, I welcome you to the world of Haremon!! To begin, I want to talk about something that I believe is somewhat of a newbie trap that isn’t very well explained and that’s the Pleasure and Manipulation elements.   In battle, you have 3 attack types and 3 governing stats that contribute to it:   Rage is your damage dealing stat/moves, Focus is your support and healing stat/moves,...
